Answering some questions - a start

Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton asked why.  ~Bernard Baruch

My mom used to chide me or tell me a lot of things which we shouldn't be doing or we weren't supposed to do etc etc. I used to ask her 'yean ippadi solre ? enna kaaranam ? [why do you say so ? what is the reason ? ]' The standard answer would be (in most cases..there have been situations where she was explanatory] 'naan enga amma kitta indha kelvi ellam kekala.. avanga sonna nalladhuku dhaan nu ketukuvean..adhe maadhiri neeyum kelu' [I never asked my mom about these. I trust her enough to do what she asks me to. You better do the same :)]. Well, this was when I was much younger. Nowadays she answers me most of the time. But then I thought, over these years, I would have gathered or heard of reasons on why our elders or great elders or great great elders said something and what impact those have on our current state of affairs. Why don't I compile them in a blog as posts (without cluttering my other blog with such posts) and that is how this blog came up.

I would like to put a disclaimer though. It is just a compilation of what I have heard and learnt. There is no guarantee that it will always be right. If you feel that my understanding is wrong, please do feel free to correct me.

The important thing is not to stop questioning.  Curiosity has its own reason for existing.  One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.  ~Albert Einstein
